Offsite Advertising Details

If your shop has made less than $10,000 USD in sales over the prior 365 days (going back to February 20, 2019 and later), as calculated on the first day of the month, you will pay a fee of 15% (as described in the section below) on Attributed Orders, unless you opt out of participation in Offsite Ads for the duration your shop is under the $10,000 USD threshold. The 15% fee and opt-out apply until or unless you at any time meet the $10,000 USD threshold. If it’s over that amount you pay 12%.

Etsy Plus Details

Etsy sellers in good standing may opt-in to Etsy Plus, a subscription package offering an expanded set of tools for growing brands. While you are subscribed to Etsy Plus, you are provided with the following credits each subscription cycle:

The fee for an Etsy Plus subscription is $10 USD per month.

Fee Details

Listing Fee: When you create a listing for an item on Etsy, you’ll be charged a fee of $0.20 per listing. This fee is non-refundable, even if the item doesn’t sell.

Transaction Fee: When you make a sale on Etsy, you’ll be charged a transaction fee of 6.5% of the total item cost, including shipping. This fee covers the cost of processing the transaction.

Payment Processing Fee: When you receive payment for an order, you’ll be charged a payment processing fee of 3% of the total item cost, plus $0.25 per transaction. This fee covers the cost of processing the payment.

Shipping Label Fee: If you purchase shipping labels through Etsy, you’ll be charged a fee that varies based on the shipping carrier and package size. This fee is deducted from your payment for the order.

Example: Selling a handmade product

Let’s say you’re selling a handmade scarf for $50, and you’re using Etsy’s shipping label service to ship it to the buyer. Here’s how the fees would break down:

  1. Listing Fee: $0.20 (charged when you create the listing)
  2. Transaction Fee: $3.25 (6.5% of the total cost, including shipping)
  3. Payment Processing Fee: $1.75 ($50 x 3.5% + $0.25)
  4. Shipping Label Fee: $4.50 (based on the shipping carrier and package size)

So the total fees for this sale would be $9.70 ($0.20 + $3.25 + $1.75 + $4.50). Subtracting the fees from the sale price, you would receive a net payout of $40.30 ($50 – $9.70).

It’s important to keep these fees in mind when setting prices for your items on Etsy. You’ll want to factor these in to make sure you’re pricing your items competitively while still leaving room to make a profit.
